Privacy policy
Effective September 16, 2026. This policy covers the Staynote iPhone beta and its owner-review website. Contact: sergemoraru@gmail.com.
What Staynote stores
Account identifiers, email addresses and display names; pet and household details; owner-provided care and access instructions; emergency contacts; photos; confirmations; sitter reviews; visit records; team membership and assignments. If you enable notifications, the service may store a device token and installation identifier. Subscription verification uses Apple transaction identifiers, subscription status, and a workspace identifier; Staynote does not receive your payment-card details.
Why it is used
To provide your account and workspace, share scoped owner-review links, preserve confirmed care and changes, synchronize your devices, record visits, manage team access, provide reminders, verify membership, and respond to support requests.
Apple and Google sign-in
If you choose Apple or Google sign-in, that provider and Supabase handle authentication. Staynote uses the resulting account identifier, email address and available profile name to create or restore your account. Google sign-in requests only your email address and basic profile. It does not request access to Gmail, Google Drive or Google Contacts.
Current Google sign-in opens a secure browser session through Supabase. Google and Supabase process authentication and security information under their own policies. Staynote does not request your precise device location or use advertising trackers. See Google’s privacy policy for how Google handles information.
Earlier beta version 0.5.1 (build 10) used Google’s iOS SDK. For that version, Google’s SDK also processes account and device identifiers, sign-in usage and other technical data for authentication, security and analytics, and may use your IP address to estimate a general location for fraud prevention. That SDK is removed in version 0.5.2 (build 11).
Who can access it
Workspace owners manage their client records. Assigned sitters can access their assigned pets and linked households. Anyone holding a private owner link can read and confirm the specific care or household snapshot it opens. Share those links only with the intended owner. A typed confirmation name is not independently verified identity.
Supabase provides account authentication and private database infrastructure. Vercel serves the website and forwards API requests. Apple provides sign-in, notifications and in-app purchases when used. Google provides sign-in when used. These providers process the information needed to operate their services. We do not sell care data or use advertising trackers.
Local copies and security
The iPhone keeps a protected local cache for offline use and stores account credentials in Keychain. Remote connections use HTTPS. Service access is checked against account and workspace membership. No service can guarantee absolute security. Keep your device locked and owner links private. A disconnected device may retain a previously downloaded copy until it reconnects or the copy is cleared.
Retention, export and deletion
Care records and history remain until they are deleted or the owning account is deleted. Archiving a client hides it from the active list and retains history. In Settings → Your data, you can export accessible records or delete your account and owned workspaces. Removing a team membership does not erase records in someone else's workspace. Contact support for a privacy request concerning those records.
Deletion removes active application records. Infrastructure backups and service security logs may follow the provider's retention schedule rather than disappear immediately. Exports and copies already shared with others are outside the app's control. Deleting an account does not cancel an Apple subscription.
When you choose Send visit update, your selected sharing app receives the previewed visit note and attached photos. Those recipients may keep their own copies. Pet photos selected in the iPhone app are resized and re-encoded before upload without the original image metadata.
Your choices
Notifications are optional and can be turned off in the app or iPhone Settings. Owners can ask their sitter to replace a link or correct a care draft. For access, correction, deletion or questions, email sergemoraru@gmail.com. Please do not send door codes, passwords or detailed care instructions in support email.
Changes
Updates to this policy will appear here with a revised effective date. We will describe material changes through the app or a service notice.
